Valley Forge veterans memorial dedicationDeChristopher Brothers
At Valley Forge Military Academy and College, Stan Wojtusik reviews the memorial he helped to organize. It was installed in 1994. Mr. Wojtusik is the national president of the Veterans of the Battle of the Bulge – The Vee-Bob, to men in the ranks – which had 21,000 members when it was founded a generation ago but has only 11,000 today.
The group’s Delaware Valley chapter has built monuments at Valley Forge Military Academy and College in Wayne and at the Army War College in Carlisle, Pa.
Other monuments have been erected by chapters across the country. Wojtusik personally has helped out with three in Massachusetts – in Wooser, Hyannis and Quincy – as well as monuments at Fort Monroe, Va., and Fort Meade, Md.
He is the first to acknowledge the hard work of other veterans in these projects, especially that of a friend from Philadelphia, Charles DeChristopher. Over the years Charles has designed and donated the gray Vermont granite for most of the monuments that have been dedicated to our Veterans.
